South Carolina will host their fifth consecutive Regional beginning this weekend when Maryland takes on Old Dominion at 1pm at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks will face Campbell at 7pm on Friday night.

* 2014 is the 15th consecutive season that the Gamecocks have made the NCAA Tournament. 1999 was the last season that the Gamecocks failed to appear. (35-23 in 1999)
* This is USC's 30th overall appearance.
* Carolina has an overall record of 126-62 in the NCAA Tournament.
* Since 2010, the Gamecocks are 34-6 in the tourney.

*The last time Maryland, Old Dominion, and Campbell were in the NCAA Tournament, they played the Gamecocks in the regular season. Maryland played USC in 1971. Old Dominion faced USC in 2000 and Campbell played them in 1990.

* This is their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance. (1965, 1970, 1971)
* The Terps last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 1971. Carolina was still a member of the ACC.
* The Terps won the ACC Championship in 1971.

Old Dominion

"Miami was the home team and led 4-1 after eight innings but (Yaron) Peters doubled and (Brian) Buscher singled to open the ninth. Pinch hitter (Trey) Dyson doubled to score Peters with Buscher also scoring on the play off a Miami error and beating out a throw at home plate. Pinch hitter Garris Gonce doubled to tie the score and with a bunt, wild pitch and passed ball scoring the final two runs. Carolina held off a Miami threat in the bottom of the ninth for a 6-4 victory."

Gators eliminated the Gamecocks with a 7-2 win in the SEC Tourney. This is the third time in the last four years that the Gamecocks have lost a game in the SEC Tourney by the score of 7-2. In 2012, UF eliminated the Gamecocks 7-2. In 2011, Vanderbilt defeated Carolina 7-2.
In 2011, USC went on to win their second consecutive National Championship. In 2012, Carolina dropped two games in the National Championship series to Arizona.
