King, a 6-2, 180-pounder from Mobile, Ala., intercepted two Joshua Dobbs’ passes in the win.

His first interception set up the Gamecocks’ second touchdown of the game, while his second pick came late in the fourth quarter, helping seal the win. He added five solo tackles and was credited with a pair of pass break ups.

The Gamecocks limited Dobbs to just 12-of-26 for the game for 161 yards.

King also was named the College Sports Madness SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

King becomes the second Gamecock to be honored by the SEC this season, joining Elliott Fry, who was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week following the season-opening win at Vanderbilt.

King and the Gamecocks will be in action again on Saturday when they host the Missouri Tigers in a 4 pm game at Williams-Brice Stadium.
