South Carolina has added another piece to its 2016 recruiting class, as Louisiana offensive lineman Lloyd Cushenberry has made his pledge to the Gamecocks.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder first visited South Carolina back in June, working out for Gamecock offensive line coach Shawn Elliott at the Gamecock Showcase and picking up an offer at that time.
"I feel like it was a great place and a great program. It's a great school for me. I didn't want any distractions before my senior season," Cushenberry told GamecockCentral in explaining the reason for the decision.
"I liked the atmosphere down there. Even though I was down there for a short time, I can see myself playing there."
Both Elliott as well as Joe Robinson played a role in Cushenberry's recruitment, with Robinson representing the recruiter of record.
"I called Coach Robinson first and he told he to call Coach Elliott. They were excited for me, can't wait for me to get down there," he said.
The Dutchtown High product, who likely projects as an offensive guard in college, is given a 5.4 two star marker by Rivals.com. Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Purdue, Southern Miss, and Troy were among his offers.
"I think I'm athletic," he said. "First of all, I'm willing to listen and work hard."
