Lugoff-Elgin (S.C.) class of 2018 three-star offensive lineman Wyatt Campbell didn't take long to decide he wants to be a Gamecock.
The 6-foot-6, 285-pounder landed an offer from South Carolina and offensive line coach Eric Wolford on Friday and then pledged to the Gamecocks on Thursday.
"It gives me a chance to play top-of-the-line football and right here at home, so it's definitely a positive for me," Campbell said Friday following the offer.

Campbell chose South Carolina over offers from Appalachian State, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Louisville, Maryland, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri, N.C. State, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.
Wolford, who worked Campbell out extensively at the Gamecocks' OL/DL camp, also played a major part in the decision.
"Oh, I like him; he's a really, really good person and a good coach," Wyatt said. "He's really energetic and that's what I like about him. He's going to be straightforward with you. He's going to tell you what he needs to tell you and when it comes down to it, he doesn't care if he offends you, he's going to let you know what you need to know. That's what I like about him."
Campbell, along with his family and LE head coach Matt Campbell (no relation), called Wolford on Thursday afternoon to deliver the news.
Campbell is considered the No. 26 player in the state for 2018.
The Gamecocks now have eight commits in their 2018 class, including four offensive linemen.
