It didn't take long for Frank Martin to shut down any rumors about him interviewing anywhere else anytime soon.

After reports surfaced last night, Martin decided not to interview for Cincinnati's open head coach vacancy, according to Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

"I thought about it, because of Huggs and my time there, but I love my boss and South Carolina—so I have decided not to meet with him," Martin told Goodman.

Goodman initially reported Thursday night Martin was a key target for the open job in Cincinnati after Mick Cronin left to take the head coaching job at UCLA.

Martin was an assistant under Bob Huggins for two years with the Bearcats before Huggins left to take the job at Kansas State and took Martin with him.

Martin is finishing his seventh season at South Carolina and is two years removed from taking the Gamecocks to a Final Four.

Over the last two seasons the Gamecocks are 33-32 and coming off a 16-16 year where they went 11-7 in the SEC and finished fourth in the conference.

Martin is 129-106 in his time at South Carolina and has taken two of his seven teams to the postseason: once to the NIT in 2015-16 and to the NCAA Tournament in 2016-17 in a trip that ended in a Final Four run.

Outside of Chris Silva, Gamecocks are returning much of their production from last season and will get Justin Minaya back from injury while bringing in the nation's No. 44 overall recruiting class with four commitments: Trae Hannibal, Trey Anderson, Wildens Leveque and Jalyn McCreary.
