MBB: Gamecocks appear in AP Top 25

Fresh off of two victories over Top 25 opponents, the South Carolina men's basketball team made its first appearance at No. 20 in the newly released AP Top 25 Monday afternoon.

The Gamecocks, now 6-0 to start the season, defeated then-No. 25 Michigan 61-46 Wednesday evening at Colonial Life Arena behind a stifling defensive effort and a double-double from Sindarius Thornwell (21 points, 10 rebounds).

On Saturday, Carolina traveled to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. and defeated then-No. 18 Syracuse 64-50. Excellent defensive play was again the story as point guard P.J. Dozier also contributed his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 boards.

South Carolina returns to the court at 6:30 p.m. December 1 against Vermont at home.
