South Carolina co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon has been selected by Rivals.com as one of the country's top 25 recruiters for the 2017 cycle.
The 33-year old McClendon is considered a rising star in the coaching industry. He played wide receiver at Georgia and graduated in 2005, spending nine seasons in Athens as an assistant coach following his playing career. He coached UGA to a win in the Taxslayer Bowl as interim head coach in 2015 and was hired away that offseason to South Carolina by Will Muschamp.

McClendon arrived in Columbia with a stellar reputation as a recruiter and has begun to show his prowess on the trail as a Gamecock assistant. For the 2017 cycle, he was the area recruiter on four-star defensive linemen Aaron Sterling and MJ Webb. He also landed safety Zay Brown out of Athens.
Although McClendon was not the area recruiter for USC's three wide receiver commitments, he played heavy roles in helping to secure four-stars OrTre Smith, Chad Terrell, and Shi Smith.
In late January, McClendon received a new contract from South Carolina's administration, picking up an extension through 2018 and a raise.
