McDonough (Ga.) Henry County athlete Chris Moody verbally pledged to Vanderbilt's staff last weekend after completing an official visit to Nashville, but the commitment lasted just a week.

The 6-foot, 197-pounder took a final official visit to Columbia this weekend and at the conclusion of the trip, switched his pledge to the Gamecocks.
Moody was a first-team 5A all-state selection as a senior in Georgia and was the team's starting quarterback. The Gamecocks like him as a defensive back.
The Peach State prospect was recruited to South Carolina by defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward, who now has nine verbal commitments in the 2012 class. Moody is the twelfth prospect from the state of Georgia in USC's recruiting class.
