ROCK HILL, S.C. -- South Pointe's Jadeveon Clowney, rated by Rivals.com as the number one prospect in the country regardless of position, was one of a who's who of recruits inside Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.

Clowney watched Saturday afternoon as the two schools that have fought for his services on the recruiting trail the most tangled on the field. In the end, the Gamecocks came away with a 35-21 victory.
"I thought it was the best I've ever seen them play," the five-star defender told GamecockCentral.com at his school. "Especially against the number one team in the nation."
The atmosphere inside the stadium on Saturday has been mentioned by many prospects in attendance, and Clowney also came away impressed.
"It was loud there," he said. "The crowd was definitely into it."
Given that Clowney has mentioned Alabama and South Carolina as two schools that have "stood out" to him on more than one occasion on the record, he was asked if the game had any sort of impact on his recruitment.
"It swayed my thoughts a lot," he said. "I've been leaning towards them, but I still like Alabama a lot."
By them, Clowney confirmed that he meant South Carolina. He was asked if the Gamecocks were his outright leader.
"Nah, I just like them," he said with a laugh.
According to the franchise defensive end, there are three other programs that he is strongly considering at this time.
"Alabama, Florida State, and Ohio State. Not Miami, they have fallen off."
Clowney was also asked to list the programs that were set to receive official visits from him.
"Ohio State, Alabama, Florida State, and South Carolina probably."
Clowney added that no dates were set for his official visits. His South Pointe squad has a big game on Friday night against undefeated Fairfield Central.
For South Carolina, assistant head coach Ellis Johnson is recruiting Clowney.
