Summerville (S.C.) wide receiver A.J. Green is one of the top overall sophomore prospects in the nation, and he showed up in Athens, Ga., over the weekend to test his skills against other top players from around the country. He didn't disappoint, as he was dominant in the one-on-one drills, and also tested well.
"I ran the forty in 4.56, my vertical was 32 inches and I got 10 reps on the bench press," the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Green said. "So it was a pretty good day."
Green, who helped lead his team to the state finals in 2005, said one aspect of the day stood out the most to him.

"I liked the one-on-one drills. You know I just love having the chance to go one on one against any DB in any kind of situation, so those drills were nice."
Several teams have already offered Green, who could be the top play the Palmetto State has to offer in its class of 2008.
"I have offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU, South Carolina, Clemson, and a lot of others," he said. "This spring I took visits to Georgia and South Carolina."
One of those visits made a big impression on Green,
"My South Carolina visit was all right, but it wasn't anything like Georgia. Georgia's coaches were great about everything. They didn't pressure me in any way to come there, and I liked that. They just got to know me and showed me what all they have to offer."
Green knows what he's looking for in a school.
"I want to play for a team that throws the ball, but one that also has a nice running game. And I also want to play for a team with a good defense because I'm used to winning."
It's possible Green could have an early announcement on his school of choice.
"I'm thinking I'd like to make an early decision. If I do, it's probably going to be Georgia."
