Parker talks visit

Beaufort (SC) four-star LB Justin Parker was in Columbia Saturday night to watch the Gamecocks take on South Carolina State. According to the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder, it was a good one.
"It was another great visit just like all the ones I take to USC," Parker said.

Assistant coach Shane Beamer, who has handled Parker's recruitment for the Gamecocks, was able to talk with the talented backer.
"I talked with Coach Beamer a lot about my season, and how the season was going, and about the next time I would be there."
When will Parker set foot in Columbia again?
"I'm thinking it will be next weekend for the Kentucky game," he said.
Parker said he also got to spend some time with fellow Beaufort product, freshman cornerback Jimmy Legree.
He talked about the Gamecock defense, which has helped USC slip into the Top 25.
"I love the way Coach (Ellis) Johnson has the 'd' playing right now. They're flying around making plays; I like that a lot."
Despite an excellent visit to USC, in-state rival Clemson is holding on to a narrow lead for Parker.
"Clemson is still my leader, but like I've mentioned before it's not a big lead," he said.
Though USC and Clemson are certain official visit destinations for Parker, there are several other programs that should not be counted out yet.
"I still have a lot of teams under consideration. Nebraska, Oregon, Georgia Tech, West Virginia and others. Nebraska came by my school to check on me and that was huge."
Parker will work on setting his official visit dates sometime in the near future. He does not have a set decision time frame.
