Pittman commits

South Carolina's football staff is off to an unprecedented start with 2015 recruiting, and the news only got better on Monday evening.
Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast junior linebacker Sherrod Pittman announced a commitment to South Carolina on local television, giving the Gamecocks five early verbals in the 2015 class.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder has drawn scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and numerous other major programs.
Pittman was recruited to South Carolina by wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Steve Spurrier Jr.. He camped at South Carolina earlier in the summer and worked with linebackers coach Kirk Botkin as well as graduate assistant (and First Coast alum) Shaq Wilson.
The Sunshine State native joins potential four-star prospects Arden Key, Dexter Neal, and Chauncey Rivers and potential five-star Shameik Blackshear as verbal commitments in South Carolina's 2015 recruiting class.
