The highlights:
Connor Shaw returned to practice Wednesday but did not run gassers with the team after practice or speak to the media.
Brandon Wilds finally got out of his yellow jersey and returned fully to practice Wednesday. He said he was 100 percent and was prepared to carry the ball 40 times if needed. He said he will play with a brace, but wasn't concerned about it affecting his ability to secure the football.
Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott said he was disappointed his unit couldn't open more holes for the running game against Missouri, adding that it doesn't matter how good a back is if he has nowhere to go. He complimented senior Ronald Patrick for his gutty performance playing through a left ankle sprain that continues to heal. Elliott said he expects a much healthier Patrick to be ready to face Mississippi State.
Talking about the two fumbles by running back Mike Davis, position coach Everette Sands said he told him that tough times don't build character, they reveal it, and added that he was pleased with Davis' receiving and was even more impressed with his pass protection. He said Davis has come a long way in that regard this season.
Steve Spurrier Jr. praised Bruce Ellington for his superb play against Missouri, saying after a below-average performance from Ellington at Tennessee, he wouldn't gave guessed Ellington would have had the kind of explosive game he did, but said some early catches gave him confidence.
INJURY REPORT: Missing practice or in yellow jerseys Wednesday were Gerald Dixon Jr. (knee sprain), Cody Waldrop (ankle), Devin Washington (concussion) and Mike Matulis (shoulder).
