South Carolina practiced Tuesday afternoon at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
The highlights:
Defensive line coach Deke Adams said Jadeveon Clowney and Chaz Sutton were still a little banged up but both practiced fully Tuesday afternoon. Adams also said UCF running back Storm Johnson presents a real threat with his ability to rush between the tackles.
Defensive backs coach Grady Brown said UCF quarterback Blake Bortles is as good as Tyler Bray was for Tennessee last year and as good as anyone they'll face. He added that their receiving corps is experienced and also is a concern.
Linebacker Cedrick Cooper said he hopes this is the game he finally can see the field and contribute in a meaningful way, something he's been extremely eager to do since he was cleared to return after dislocating his elbow the first week of fall camp. He said he will wear a brace on it the rest of the season.
Defensive lineman Chaz Sutton said he doesn't listen to criticism of the D-line's play and he handles it by remaining "comfortable in my own skin." He said he's extremely competitive and knows the defense has a lot of room for improvement.
INJURY REPORT: Missing practice or in yellow jerseys Tuesday were Devin Washington (concussion) and Mike Matulis (shoulder).
UP NEXT: South Carolina will practice tomorrow afternoon.
