What I like: Davis has good burst off the line of scrimmage and the speed to threaten defenses vertically. He gets in and out of his cuts quickly, and can accelerate to full speed in just a few steps. Davis is a fluid athlete who is dangerous after the catch, with the ability to turn a short pass into a big gain. He has good hands and can win in contested situations due to his strength, concentration, and competitiveness. Davis also has a knack for finding the open areas in coverage, making himself an easier target for quarterbacks to hit.

Instant impact? The Gamecocks lacked weapons at wide receiver in 2015, and Davis provides tremendous playmaking ability at the position. Given how similar his style of play is to Deebo Samuel, I would expect Davis to start out as Samuel’s backup, with the chance to earn more playing time as the year goes on.

Rivals rating: I agree with Davis’ 5.8 four-star Rivals rating. He has all of the tools needed to develop into a legitimate playmaker in college.
