Already drawing comparisons to Dwyane Wade and John Wall, 2013 combo guard Rodney Purvis has all the tools to be a special talent.

Andy Poplin, a coach within the CP3 AAU organization, said it best when describing the 2013 prospect.
"There's not much the kid can't do," he said. "He's a special athlete. He has a tremendous upside if he keeps working hard".
South Carolina is the most recent school to throw their hat in the ring for the North Carolina native.
"I got an offer from South Carolina last week," the 6-foot-3 guard told GamecockCentral.com. "I was surprised by it, but it's great to get offered by such a good school. Coming from a coach like Coach (Darrin) Horn made it even better".
Purvis is familiar with the Gamecock program after watching them a few times last season.
"I love how they let their guards play," he said. "They like to get after it. I think I would fit in good with their style of play".
The 2013 standout is considered a combo guard on the AAU circuit, but admitted his future is most likely at point guard.
"I can play both guard spots, but I'm sort of transitioning to point guard. My strengths are driving the lane and finding my open teammates."
Coach Poplin agreed with the rising star.
"Rodney can get to the basket at will," he said. "He makes things happen with the ball in his hands and he's so quick that it's hard to keep him in front of you."
The offer from South Carolina increased his total to twelve. Other schools such as Georgia Tech, Xavier, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Wake Forest and Maryland have already stepped forward with offers. North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Oklahoma are also showing interest in Purvis.
"I'm just enjoying the whole recruiting process and having fun with it," he said. "I don't have any top schools. I just want to take my time and enjoy it."
