South Carolina picked up a talented prospect at a big position of need on Tuesday when four-star DE Dante Sawyer pledged to the Gamecocks.
Sawyer committed to South Carolina over Missouri, Tennessee, Auburn, and many others.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder was recruited to the Gamecocks by quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus and defensive line coach Deke Adams.
"All I did was ask God to guide me and this is what he told me," Sawyer said. "The business school is good and the town."
A member of the 2014 Rivals250, the Peach State native is rated as the 11th-best weakside defensive end prospect in the country by Rivals.com.
