Several SEC programs chasing Rivals100 LB Bryson Eason

THE LATEST

Rivals100 Tennessee linebacker Bryson Eason's recruitment took a little bit of a pause during the spring, as he focused on team-related activities instead of hitting the road for visits. But after a number of coaches made their way through Memphis to see him and his teammates this spring, Eason is ready to return the favor. His visits will start this weekend in Gainesville, where he's set to take an unofficial visit to Florida. Rivals.com caught up with Eason to talk about why he's going to Gainesville and also get his thoughts on Arkansas, South Carolina and LSU, three other SEC schools heavily involved in his recruitment.

IN HIS WORDS

Florida: "I'm going to be going down there for a visit this weekend and see what they have to offer. I've been talking to Coach Mullen and he wants us to come down. I just want to know where they need me and how their linebacker depth is looking. They just got out of spring if things aren't going or looking how they want I want to know that and see if I could possibly come in to work for some early playing time. So going down there is a big priority of mine in recruiting. Who knows, if things sound good enough something special might happen."

Arkansas: "Arkansas is always fun when I get down there for a visit. I was there in the spring and saw a lot of the pieces they have there and what they need to keep getting better. I think I could go there as a freshman and make an impact early if that's where I want to go. It was very interesting and fun and I learned a lot when I was there. Arkansas has made Memphis a real priority and they want to keep getting guys from there. They always talk about when they won the National Championship in basketball and how they had guys from Memphis play a big role and they want to do the same thing in football."

South Carolina: "That's going to be my first official. At the end of May. I already set it up. May 31. My boy Keveon Mullins is going there and he's always talking about how great it is. We had a class together and he just talked about them every day and how good of a school it is. I told him I would make it my first official visit just for him, so I can see if what he's saying is true. Coach Bentley recruits Tennessee and he's a great dude and Coach Hutzler, the linebackers coach, he's a great dude, too. Those are two great coaches, really genuine guys and really down to Earth. They hit me up a lot and not just about football but about life. They check up and see how things are going."

LSU: "They're in the mix for an official visit for sure. I went down there in March and it was my first time being there and it was great. It was a sight to see. I talked to Coach Aranda and he talks a lot about Devin White and the impact he had. I think Devin is the best linebacker in the draft this year so that means a lot. He said he needs some more guys like him and I agreed. We were just chopping it up. He wants me to come down again soon for an unofficial to just chill and talk ball and see how we fit into what he's doing at LSU."
