South Carolina offers local hoops star

South Carolina extended an offer to Irmo (S.C.) class of 2017 four-star guard Devontae Shuler Monday, according to GamecockCentral.com basketball insider Carey Rich.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound point guard is considered the No. 69 overall prospect in his class by Rivals.com.
Shuler was one of the top performers at last weeks Under Armour All-American camp in Charlotte.

The class of 2017 shooting guard easily outplayed his current national ranking. (He's currently rated No. 69 in the nation in his class.) A natural scorer who has an ease about his game, he went for 19 and five rebounds on an impressive 8-11 (2-4 from three-point range) field goal shooting. Shuler squared to the basket quickly and made the most of his chances. Shuler got to the rim and hit jumpers. He mentioned Clemson (which he recently visited), USC and Wake Forest as high major offers, and more are sure to come soon.
