Taylor returning

As expected, South Carolina defensive end Devin Taylor is returning to Columbia for his senior season.
The 6-foot-7, 260-pounder was a key cog this past season for a Gamecock defense that ranked third in the country in total defense and eleventh in scoring defense.

As a junior, Taylor was named named AP Honorable Mention All-SEC. He finished the 2011 season with 42 tackles (8.5 for loss), six sacks, a pair of pass break-ups, six quarterback hurries and an interception returned for a touchdown.
Taylor also garnered All-SEC honors as a sophomore (first team by the AP, second team by the league's coaches) and was named to the All-SEC Freshman team during the 2009 season.
Taylor submitted paperwork to the NFL's Underclassman Advisory Committee and received feedback that he was unlikely to be drafted in the top three rounds.
The Beafort (S.C.) native publicly stated to the media recently that he was "50/50" on a return, though as GamecockCentral.com has previously reported, behind the scenes Taylor made it known he was likely to return.
In a statement released through USC on Monday, Taylor said, "I still have some things I'd like to accomplish at Carolina before I go on to the next level."
