Thornwell Signs Contract with Clippers

According to Michael Scotto with Basketball Insiders, Gamecock great Sindarius Thornwell has signed his deal with the LA Clippers. Thornwell received a 3-year $3.8 million deal with the first two years guaranteed.

Thornwell, who was drafted 48th overall, performed well in the NBA Summer League, averaging 14.3 points per game in the Las Vegas group.

Sindarius was named SEC Player of the Year for 2017 and led the Gamecocks to the Final Four during an outstanding senior campaign. Thornwell averaged 21.4 pts per game in 31 games played in 2016-17, while averaging 7.1 rebounds per game. He finished his Gamecock career third on the all-time scoring list with 1,941 points and holds the school record for games played with 132.

The Clippers begin the preseason schedule on October 1st against the Toronto Raptors.
