USC moves up in polls, RPI

South Carolina (42-14, 18-11) moved up two spots to No. 15 in the Baseball America rankings released today after taking the weekend series over Vanderbilt, which fell to No. 19 in the poll.

In the Perfect Game USA poll, the Gamecocks moved up three spots to No. 12.
Previous Gamecock opponents who are ranked in the Baseball America poll include No. 7 Florida, No. 10 Ole Miss and No. 24 Alabama.
South Carolina plays the winner of Tuesday's Mississippi State/Georgia game. USC's game will take place Wednesday after Florida plays the winner of Tuesday's Alabama/Kentucky game at 5:30 p.m.
The Gamecocks also got great news in terms of a national seed Monday. South Carolina came in at No. 8 in the RPI, which is a key component to seeding teams nationally for the NCAA Tournament.
