WBB: SEC tournament pairings

South Carolina got the help it needed, but couldn't help itself.
The Gamecocks won their regular-season finale, then watched in dismay as red-hot LSU beat Texas A&M. USC came into the week knowing that its chances for a top-four finish were slim, but the chance was still there. It just needed two things to happen - A&M to lose twice, and the Gamecocks to win twice.

The former happened. USC was left kicking itself for a loss at Missouri earlier this week, which ultimately cost it a top-four finish. The Gamecocks will play the winner of Alabama and Mississippi State at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday in the tournament's second round. USC beat Alabama once and Mississippi State twice in the regular season.
The pairings for the SEC tournament have been set. The tournament begins on Wednesday in Duluth, Ga.
