As South Carolina's spring school semester ends, head coach Will Muschamp announced Tuesday afternoon that the Gamecocks will be down two defensive tackles this fall.

Redshirt sophomore Dexter Wideman and redshirt freshman Stephon Taylor are no longer with the program, Muschamp announced during the Lancaster stop of the Spurs Up Tour Tuesday night.

"Dexter is going to go to South Carolina State and Taylor is going to go somewhere closer to home," Muschamp said. "They wanted another opportunity and Stephon wanted to get closer to home. I think a lot of both of them."

Wideman, originally signed with the Gamecocks out of Saluda (S.C.) High in the 2014 class. He eventually joined the program after a season at Camden Military Academy, but never lived up to his four-star rating.

Taylor, a former three-star prospect from New Orleans (La.) McDonogh, was a member of Muschamp's first recruiting class. He redshirted last season with a shoulder injury.
