Each week, the Spotlight takes a special look at South Carolina commitment or target who had an especially good game the previous week.

South Carolina three-star defensive tackle commit Jabari Ellis had five tackles, including a sack and three tackles-for-loss in Georgia Military College's 30-19 victory over Dupage this past week.

Gamecock Central's Take:

There's not a lot of film out there of Ellis' second season at Georgia Military, but I did find the video below of his sack from his game this week. As you can see, Ellis is playing end in a three-man front at GMC in the play. Ellis is a versatile prospect and while I think his long-term position is the three-technique in a four-man front, Ellis has the ability to be used as a swing-man between end and tackle similarly to the way Carolina currently uses Keir Thomas and to a lesser extent Dante Sawyer.

The thing I like about Ellis in the clip below is his ability to change direction at his size. He's extremely agile and in the clip below effectively takes away both options in the zone-read by cutting in to force the quarterback to keep then changing direction and closing on the quarterback to get him on the ground. It's obviously just one play, but it's impressive for someone of Ellis' stature.
