It didn't take long for Crisp County (Ga.) three-star linebacker Ahdarrious Gee to become the first commitment in South Carolina's 2019 class.

"It went great. I committed today," Gee told GamecockCentral.com. "I love the atmosphere. The coaches are great and show lots of love."

The 6-foot-1, 203-pounder landed an offer from the Gamecocks last month and pledged to them Saturday, choosing Carolina over offers from Kentucky, Mississippi State, NC State, Southern Miss and Vanderbilt.

"I love South Carolina. That was my childhood team growing up," Gee said last month when Carolina offered. "It was very surprising. I didn’t know I was going to get an offer, I had never talked to them."

Outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson was Gee's area recruiter. Gee said that head coach Will Muschamp was excited to hear the news of his pledge.

"He said 'let's make it happen'," Gee said.
