Freshman DL Zacch Pickens

"The thing I really like about Zacch, in the limited basis he's been able to be out there, is No. 1, you can't coach that body. He's a big kid, he's already got a powerful lower body, he's got long arms, so he already has the frame. He's able to do things naturally that really good football players are able to do naturally.

"With the limited amount of reps he's had in practice, he's [still] able to do some things. I'm very excited to see, just like we say, all freshman have to get in there and get their nose bloody a little bit, feel it from SEC linemen, but so far on the limited basis I've seen, I like where we're headed with him. I like what I see."

Sophomore DT Rick Sandidge

"The thing that I saw last year from watching tape - I watched all of his cutups - Rick is a strong guy who plays really hard. The part that we're all working as a group is to try to improve fundamentally with our technique and getting our hand placement right, coming out of our hips, having our eyes right, those are the type of things that all young guys, sometimes when you get thrown in the fray, you just go in there, you just play ball, those are the things that sometimes they slip.

"Those are the things that we're really harping on this spring, it's just getting him better fundamentally, as well as the whole group. If we can do all that and you already play hard and physical, then the game will slow down and it will be easy for you."

Senior DT Javon Kinlaw

"I'm super excited to be able to coach a player like Javon. There are some things that he does really, really well, and there are some things that he can approve upon, like every player can. When you look a his length, his athleticism, his explosiveness, those are all qualities any d-line coach would want to see in a defensive tackle.

"He reminds me a lot of the young man I had at Arkansas. I think Javon can really, really be a special guy. There's some things that we've got to work on, and get better at, but he's got some definite physical attributes that translate to being a great player. "
