Junior college defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw decommitted from South Carolina in November, but made it clear that the Gamecock program was still under consideration.

Recently, the Goose Creek product had indicated that he would take three official visits: Southern Cal on January 13, Texas A&M on January 20, and either Alabama or South Carolina on January 27.

On Wednesday night, Kinlaw cut his list to three programs and spoke with GamecockCentral.com about why each made it.

South Carolina: "It's my home school, home state and I love everything about the place."

Alabama: "It's one of the best schools in the country football and academic-wise."

Southern California: "I have a great relationship with the d-line coach. We have a relationship I don't have with any other coach I've ever spoken to."

The finalists are in no particular order according to Kinlaw.

With the cut, Kinlaw also revamped his official visit slate. He will take a trip to Southern Cal on January 13, to Alabama on January 20, and South Carolina gets the last crack the weekend of January 27.
