Sindarius Thornwell sick, misses practice

The star of the NCAA tournament, South Carolina senior Sindarius Thornwell, is sick and missed Thursday's Final Four practice and media availability.

Thornwell was, instead, back resting at the team hotel.

“He had a little body temperature last night when we landed,” said head coach Frank Martin, who also has a bug. “He was a little better this morning. I just told our trainer feed him fluids and do what you do. Let him rest, don't stress him. Sindarius is our most intelligent player. He doesn't need to be on the practice floor to understand what we're doing."

Thornwell, the SEC Player of the Year, has averaged 25 points per game during South Carolina's NCAA tournament run.

The Gamecocks play Gonzaga at 6:09 p.m. ET on Saturday in Glendale, Ariz. on CBS.
