Chandler (Arizona) quarterback Jacob Conover announced this week that he had received an offer from South Carolina. As it turns out, it's a scholarship opportunity he's held for even longer than originally thought.

"They came out to watch me throw and really liked what they saw. They actually offered me then but it was a miscommunication," Conover told GamecockCentral.com. "We were able to chat a couple days ago and were able to confirm the offer."

Dan Werner was the assistant that scouted Conover recently, and the two have had conversations since the Gamecock staff began its courtship.
