Allen: I could commit

Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic three-star safety Antonio Allen is essentially down to three schools, and the 6-foot-1, 185-pound headhunter will take what could be his final unofficial visit this weekend.
"Me and Dion (Lecorn) will be visiting South Carolina one day this week," Allen said. "Dion's mom is taking us. We're still talking about exactly which day it's going to be."

Allen, who racked up 114 tackles and two interceptions as a junior, is looking forward to seeing the Gamecock campus.
"They are my No. 1 school right now, so I'm excited about the trip. I like their defensive style and that they put a lot of DB's into the NFL. That tells me there's a good chance for me to make it to the next level if I progress like I'm capable of."
South Carolina has vaulted to the top of his list for multiple reasons.
"I can also get a good education there, and coach (Steve) Spurrier Jr. has told me to just trust him about things, and I feel like I can. I'd like to wait things out a little bit, but there's a chance I could commit to them on the visit if everything goes good."
Florida and USF round out the final three teams for Allen, who also has offers from Clemson, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Louisville, North Carolina and NC State.
"I like the atmosphere at Florida, but they haven't offered me. USF is a team on the rise, and everything is new there facility-wise. I like their coaches, too."
Allen, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, knows what he's looking for in a school.
"I'm going to go where I'm most comfortable, and to the place that I feel like is the best opportunity for me I feel like everything else will work itself out."
