Benson no longer in Gamecocks class
Covington (Ga.) Eastside three-star offensive guard Lamarius Benson has decommitted from South Carolina, the 6-foot-3, 325-pound prospect Tweeted Thursday morning.
Benson, who committed to Carolina last March, did not originally sign with the Gamecocks during the early signing period like most of the committed class did at the time.
Benson took an official visit to Central Florida this past weekend.
