Camara commits

South Carolina has another commitment in the 2013 class, as Cumming (Ga.) West Forysth's Mohamed Camara made the decision today to become a Gamecock.
"I really was comfortable with everything there when I went down," he told GamecockCentral.com. "My family loved it and I liked the position I'm going to play. Everything felt right."

The 6-foot-2, 187-pounder was recruited to South Carolina by quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus. He projects as a SPUR in South Carolina's defense and is excited about his potential at the spot.
"I think I fit in pretty good at that position, because they do a lot of things from covering the number two, to the tight end, to being in the box as a safety. That's not that much different from what I do in high school."
Camara registered a 31 inch vertical and a 4.1 second shuttle time at the recent Rivals.com/VTOSports camp in Georgia. During his junior season, he tallied 110 tackles, seven sacks, and two interceptions including one for a touchdown. While USC was the first program to offer, others have been showing interest lately.
"Arkansas, Mississippi State, Florida State, Miami, Cincinnati, and a couple of other SEC schools," Camara listed as having inquired recently. "A couple of them like Mississippi State told me once I came to camp, they would offer. Miami just started recruiting me but said they really liked me."
Camara said that he may visit a couple other programs or attend more camps to compete and see what else is out there, but that he is solid in his pledge.
"I've been talking to a lot of other SEC schools but I felt more comfortable with this one," he explained. "I feel good about this."
