Conway lineman excited about Gamecocks offer

Offer No. 25 was a big one for Conway (S.C.) three-star OL/DL Raiqwon O'Neal.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder, who has landed a flurry of offers since the spring began, picked up an offer from South Carolina at the Gamecocks' one-day camp on Thursday.

"It was very exciting and a blessing to have another offer," O'Neal told GamecockCentral.com. "It's a beautiful campus and I like their graduation rate."

O'Neal could prove to be an offensive or defensive lineman in college, but the Gamecocks offer came as a defensive lineman and was delivered by head coach Will Muschamp.

"He's a good coach, a very good coach," O'Neal said. "I like what he's doing there. He was like, 'Be a part of this.'"

At camp, O'Neal worked out with defensive line coach Lance Thompson.

"Great coach," O'Neal said. "I love what he's doing. Our defensive line coach basically does the same things that he does."

O'Neal also holds offers from ECU, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi State, Navy, Purdue, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, and West Virginia.

O'Neal plans to visit ECU this weekend before releasing his top schools.

He hopes to make a decision around mid-season.
