Current No. 20: Joseph Charlton

Charlton is a redshirt freshman kicker and punter who is expected to be the natural backup to returning punter Sean Kelly and handle the Gamecocks' kicking duties this season.

Coming out of A.C. Flora (S.C.), Rivals ranked him as a three-star prospect and ESPN ranked him as the 15th-best kicker in the country.

Former No. 20: Bryant "Mookie" Gilliard

Gilliard was a staple on the Gamecocks' "Black Magic" team in 1984, and would start for the garnet and black for two years. In 1984, he captained the team to a 10-2 record, led the nation and set a school record for in interceptions with nine and was named a first-team All-American.

His 11 career interceptions are good for third all time in school history, and his claim to fame is his four-interception game against Florida State in 1984.
