Gamecocks in the pros: Aug. 1-Aug. 7

MLB

--Jackie Bradley Jr. went 4-for-25 (.160) with Boston with four runs scored. He's hitting .286 this year.

--Steve Pearce, who was traded to Baltimore from Tampa Bay, went 2-for-9 (.222) with his new club. He also scored a run.

--Justin Smoak went 1-for-13 (.077) for Toronto with nine strikeouts. His average is down to .225 this season.

--Sam Dyson made three appearances for Texas with two saves and one save blown. He pitched three innings, giving up four hits and two earned runs. He has 24 saves this season and three blown saves.

Triple-A

--Christian Walker hit 4-for-25 (.160) for the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) with three runs scored.

--Whit Merrifield hit 5-for-28 (.179) for the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City) with two runs scored.

--Michael Roth started two games for the Round Rock Express (Texas), combining to give up five earned runs on 14 hits in 10 innings. He went 1-1 last week, pushing his record to 3-2 and ERA to 2.59 in Triple-A.

--Bryan Harper had two relief appearances for the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington). He threw 2.1 innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs. He also struck out four.

--Tyler Webb made two appearances for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees), pitching 1.2 innings. He didn't allow a hit and his ERA is 1.65 since July 2.

--Jordan Montgomery started two games for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees). he threw 12.2 innings, giving up 10 hits and two earned runs, including a shutout start last night. He picked up his first Triple-A win last night.

Double-A

--Evan Marzilli went 4-for-20 (.200) for the Mobile BayBears (Arizona) with two runs scored and a RBI.

--Joel Seddon started one game with the Midland RockHounds (Oakland), giving up five runs on six hits in a win. He's won his last four starts, moving to 6-2 on the season with a 2.42 ERA.

--Evan Beal made one appearance for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City), pitching two innings with one hit.

--Grayson Greiner went 6-for-17 (.353) for the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit) with three runs scored and two home runs. He's hitting .316 since July 22.

--Peter Mooney hit 7-for-20 (.350) with two runs and an RBI for the Jacksonville Suns (Miami).

Single-A Advanced

--Kyle Martin went 3-for-8 (.375) with the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia) with two runs scored, a home run and three RBIs.

--Tanner English went 4-for-13 (.307) for the Fort Meyers Miracle (Minnesota) with two runs scored.

--LB Dantzler hit 3-for-17 (.176) for the Dunedin Blue Jays (Toronto). He also scored a run.

--Joey Pankake hit 2-for-7 (.286) in two games for the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit). He's hitting .171 since July 22 and .215 this year.

--Max Schrock hit 8-for-31 (.258) with the Potomac Natoinals (Washington) with three runs and three RBIs. He's hitting .337 with Potomac.

--Jack Wynkoop started one game for the Modesto Nuts (Colorado), throwing six innings of shutout baseball while striking out seven. He got a no decision, however and remains at 3-2 in Single-A Advanced.

--Taylor Widener threw twice for the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees), going five combined innings and giving up one earned run. He struck out seven.He has a 1.80 ERA since coming to Charleston and a .44 ERA in the pros.

Single-A Full Season

--Dom Thompson-Williams hit 3-for-23 (.130) with the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees).

--Gene Cone went 3-for-16 (.188) for the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) with four runs scored. He's scored in four straight games.

Rookie Ball

--Marcus Mooney went 5-for-17 (.294) with the Danville Braves (Atlanta) and is hitting .205 since July 27.

--Matt Vogel had one appearance for the GCL Rays (Tampa Bay). He was roughed up in .1 inning, giving up five hits and five earned runs.

--According to MiLB, Braden Webb has not appeared for the AZL Brewers (Milwaukee).
