Gamecocks in the Pros: Aug. 16-21

Major League Baseball

--Jackie Bradley Jr. went 4-for-24 (.167) for Boston with four runs and two home runs. He also had six RBIs, including a four-RBI day Aug. 17.

--Steve Pearce went 3-for-10 (.300) with two runs and an RBI with Baltimore.

--Sam Dyson made two appearances for Texas, pitching six innings and giving up three earned runs. He blew a save Sunday, his fourth of the season.

--Justin Smoak went 0-for-3 in two games for Toronto and is hitting .114 in August.

Triple-A

--Michael Roth started two games for the Round Rock Express (Texas), pitching 10.1 innings and giving up nine earned runs on 15 hits.

--Whit Merrifield hit 9-for-27 (.333) for the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City) with seven runs and two home runs with six RBIs. He's hitting .308 since Aug. 12.

--Christian Walker hit 9-for-25 (.360) for the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) with five runs and seven RBIs. He also had two home runs in one game on Aug. 17.

--Bryan Harper remains on the Syracuse Cheifs' (Washington) seven-day disabled list. He last pitched Aug. 6.

--Jordan Montgomery pitched seven scoreless innings for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees), giving up three hits and striking out eight. He hasn't allowed a run in his last three starts (18.2 innings).

--Tyler Webb made two appearances for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees), giving up six earned runs on seven hits.

Double-A

--Peter Mooney hit 3-for-20 (.150) for the Jacksonville Suns (Miami) with a run and an RBI. He's hitting .200 since Aug. 9.

--Evan Marzilli hit 1-for-11 (.091) with two runs for the Mobile BayBears (Arizona), and is hitting .154 since Aug. 8.

--Joel Seddon started two games for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland), giving up three earned runs on eight hits in 10 innings. He earned two no decisions, snapping his streak of five straight starts with a win. He has a 2.01 ERA since July 2.

--Grayson Greiner went 8-for-16 (.500) with the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit) with two runs and a home run. He had six RBIs this week and is hitting .359 since Aug. 4.

--Evan Beal made two appearances for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City), allowing three earned runs on three hits in 4.2 innings. He also struck out five batters.

Single-A Advance

--Kyle Martin hit 5-for-20 (.200) for the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia) with three runs and a home run. He also had six RBIs and his average is up to .246.

--Tanner English went 6-for-15 (.400) with five runs and two home runs with five RBIs for the Fort Meyers Miracle (Minnesota).

--LB Dantzler hit 1-for-9 (.111) with a run and two RBIs in two games for the Dunedin Blue Jays (Toronto).

--Joey Pankake remains on the seven-day disabled list for the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit).

--Max Schrock hit 8-for-21 (.381) for the Potomac Nationals (Washington) with four runs and a RBI.

--Jack Wynkoop started one game for the Modesto Nuts (Colorado), giving up one earned run on six hits in six innings. He struck out seven and improves to 6-2 since arriving in Modesto.

--Taylor Widener made one scoreless appearance for the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees), only giving up three hits in three innings. He struck out seven.

Single-A Short Season

--Dom Thompson-Williams went 2-for-5 (.400) in two games for the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees), scoring two runs.

--Gene Cone hit 2-for-9 (.222) with two runs and two RBIs for the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets).

Rookie Season

--Marcus Mooney went 5-for-17 (.294) for the Danville Braves (Atlanta) with four runs.

--Matt Vogel picked up his first save GCL Rays (Tampa Bay), pitching two scoreless innings and giving up one hit.

--Braden Webb has yet to make a start for the AZL Brewers (Milwaukee), according to MiLB.com.
