Gamecocks in the Pros: Aug. 29-Sept. 5

MLB

--Jackie Bradley Jr. went 7-for-26 (.269) for Boston with four runs and four RBIs. He rose his OBP in August and it's .350 for the season.

--Steave Pearce didn't play much offensively for Baltimore, but when he did he went 1-for-10 (.100) with two RBIs.

--Justin Smoak hit in one of Toronto's seven games this week, going 1-for-4 (.250) with a RBI.

--Sam Dyson picked up two saves this week for Texas after two perfect innings over two games. He struck out three batters and has 31 saves this season.

Triple-A

--Whit Merrifield was promoted from Omaha Storm Chasers to Kansas City as part of September roster expansion, and he's gone 2-for-8 with a run and a RBI since the call-up.

--Christian Walker went 8-for-31 (.258) for the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) with four runs and three home runs, including a two-home run day Monday. he drove in six runs over the week and finishes the season with a .264 average.

--Michael Roth started two games for the Rock Rock Express (Texas) with 10 innings pitched, 12 hits and four earned runs. He finishes his Triple-A season with 11-5 with a 2.97 ERA.

--Bryan Harper remains on the 7-day disabled list for the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington).

--Jordan Montgomery started one game for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees), pitching six innings and giving up two earned runs on six hits. He has a 0.97 ERA heading into the playoffs.

--Tyler Webb made two appearances for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees), pitching 4.2 innings and allowing just one earned run total.

Double-A

--Grayson Greiner was promoted to Triple-A Toldeo Mud Hens (Detroit). Since then he's hit 4-for-16 (.250) with a home run.

--Marcus Mooney went 4-for-20 (.200) and three runs, two RBIs for the Jacksonville Suns (Miami). He finished with a .258 average in 119 games for Jacksonville.

--Evan Beal made three appearances for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City), throwing 5.2 innings and giving up five hits and three earned runs. His season finished Monday and Beal ended with a 3.81 ERA in Double-A.

--Evan Marzilli went 2-for-16 (.125) with a run for the Mobile BayBears. He hit .231 for Mobile, but he hit .069 over the last ten games of the season.

--Joel Seddon started one game for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland) with six innings pitched, three earned runs and three strikeouts. He lowered his ERA from 11.64 in April to 4.40 at the end of the regular season.

Single-A Advanced

--Max Schrock was promoted to Double-A Midland (Oakland) and has gone 9-for-23 (.391) with three runs and three RBIs before the playoffs start Wednesday.

--Tanner English was promoted to Triple-A Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota). He hit 5-for-17 (.294) with a run and a double.

--L.B. Dantzler (Dunedin Blue Jays/Toronto) and Joey Pankake (Lakeland Flying Tigers/Detroit) are still on the 7-day disabled list.

--Jack Wynkoop started one game and made another appearance for the Modesto Nuts (Colorado) with 7.2 innings pitched, 13 hits, three earned runs and six strikeouts. He finishes his season at 7-2 and 2.68 ERA in Modesto.

--Taylor Widener made two appearances for the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees), including one start Sunday in Columbia, with eight inning pitched. He gave up three hits and no earned runs with 11 strikeouts. He has a 0.78 ERA going into the playoffs.

Single-A (Short Season)

--Dom Thompson-Williams hit 7-for-30 (.233) with seven runs scored and a home run. He finishes the regular season batting .308 over the last 10 games.

--Gene Cone hit 6-for-29 (.207) for the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) with four runs and two RBIs. In his first season in the pros he hit .227 with 35 runs and 17 RBIs.

Rookie Season

--Marcus Mooney finished the final week of the season hitting 3-for-17 (.176) for the Danville Braves (Atlanta) with an RBI. He ended his first pro season with a .264 ERA, 44 runs and 16 RBIs.

--Matt Vogel made one appearance for GCL Rays (Tampa Bay) with three innings of no-hit baseball and six strikeouts. He finished the season with a 3.54 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP.

--Braden Webb did not make an appearance for the AZL Brewers this season, according to MiLB.com.
