Gamecocks pick up 4-star OL

Miami (Florida) Northwestern four-star offensive lineman Mark Fox picked up an offer from South Carolina just two days ago.

Now he will appear on the Gamecocks' 2019 commitment list, as the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder verbally committed to the staff this morning.

Fox chose South Carolina over other offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, and others.

"The coaches are amazing," Fox told GamecockCentral.com. "I love the program and the direction it's going."

Fox actually pledged to the Gamecock staff sight unseen, as he's yet to make a visit to Columbia. That will change in the near future, but he's heard enough from offensive line coach Eric Wolford to feel very comfortable.

"He's honest. Everything he told me, it happened, so I can't ask for more than that," said Fox. "It feels like home."

Fox has a prior friendship with current Gamecock defensive lineman Keir Thomas, who helped sell him on the program.

"He told me about practice and how the coaches are," Fox said.

The Rivals250 prospect is ranked the No. 183 overall prospect in his class and the No. 22 offensive tackle.
