Gamecocks to be without three receivers against Aggies

The Gamecocks will be thin at receiver against Texas A&M as receivers Randrecous Davis, Bryan Edwards and Deebo Samuel will all be sidelined with hamstring injuries.

Davis' absence is of little surprise, as the freshman missed practice this week, but Edwards and Samuel were game-time decisions. both were listed on the dress roster and came out with the team initially, but after testing, left and returned in shorts.

In their absence, the Gamecocks will rely heavily on freshman Chavis Dawkins and sophomore Terry Googer.

Other Notes

Sophomore Malik Young will start on the offensive line, where he practiced with the first team this week. He took a large portion of the reps at right guard and left tackle, but it has not been announced which position he will play against the Aggies. Based upon the rest of the starters on the line, I'd wager he will protect Brandon McIlwain's blindside at left tackle.

Freshman Keir Thomas will get the start at defensive end after a strong week in practice. As usual, the coaches will run a deep rotation along the defensive line.

Lastly, redshirt freshman Jerad Washington is dressed today despite not being on the press list given to the media. He is in pads and warming up with the team.
