Lewis commits to Carolina

South Carolina quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus has landed another prospect from the Garden State for the Gamecocks, and this time it is a four-star linebacker.
Hammonton (N.J.) St. Joseph's defender Kaiwan Lewis pledged to South Carolina on Friday over offers from Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, and several other programs.

"I talked to the whole staff today," Lewis said moments ago, "I felt like it was the best decision for me."
In addition, GamecockCentral.com caught up with the 6-foot-2, 227-pounder after the recent Gamecock Showcas. While he had not yet committed then, he did talk about why he liked the program so much.
"The coaching staff shows a lot of love here. Coach Spurrier is a Heisman trophy winner and played in the NFL, but he doesn't act like a Heisman trophy winner. He's calm and down-to-earth. He's a family man."
Lewis is the 18th verbal commitment of the 2012 class for the Gamecocks.
