Linebacker pledge flips commitment

The South Carolina football program has lost its sixth commitment since the firing of Will Muschamp two weekends ago.

Jonesboro (Ga.) Mt. Zion class of 2021 four-star linebacker Trenilyas Tatum flipped his commitment Wednesday night from South Carolina to Georgia Tech.

The 6-foot-2, 206-pounder committed to the Gamecocks in April, picking them over Georgia Tech in what somewhat of a surprise at the time.

Tatum was the highest-rated commitment in the Gamecocks' 2021 class.

The Yellow Jackets were the first school to offer Tatum last year and had continued to recruit him, even with his pledge to the Gamecocks.

Since Muschamp's firing South Carolina's lost commitments from Simeon Price, Bryce Steele, Jayden Johnson, George Wilson and Rodarius Thomas.
