Mississippi standout with nine offers

Oxford (Miss.) linebacker John Frink is one of the top defensive prospects the Magnolia State has to offer in its class of 2007, and he currently has nine scholarship offers to his credit.
"I have offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, South Carolina, Memphis, Kentucky, Stanford, Oklahoma State, and Indiana," the 6-foot-1, 218-pound Frink said. "I like all of those schools right now, but I know more about some than others."

One school Frink is familiar with is home town Ole Miss.
"I've been to Ole Miss quite a few times because I'm so close, so I'm pretty comfortable there," he said. "I like their coaches a lot. I got to see them practice in person this spring, and I like how their defense really flies to the ball."
Mississippi State also rates highly to Frink, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.
"I haven't been to Starkville yet, but I've talked to coach (Sylvester) Croom and coach (J.B.) Grimes. I like both of them. Mississippi State is a good program."
Frink, who racked up 147 tackles as a junior, received a visit from his South Carolina recruiter back in the spring.
"Coach (Tyrone) Nix came by the school to see me, and we've talked on the phone. He was telling me about their defense and some of their needs. He also was telling me about their engineering program because that's something I'm looking at majoring in. He said if I came there I'd get a chance to come in and compete right off the bat."
Southern Miss and Oklahoma State round out the list of schools Frink commented on.
"Coach (Derrick) Nix is recruiting me for Southern Miss, and he thinks I could come in and start early if I came there. At Oklahoma State, I've talked with coach (Gunter) Brewer. We talked about their engineering program. He's a great guy. They have a solid program."
Frink, who bench presses 310 pounds, will base his decision on four factors.
"First off, it will be academics. It's also important to me for my parents to be able to see me play. I also want to know I'll fit in and be comfortable with my surroundings wherever I end up going."
Frink says no teams presently stand out to him.
"I really can't say who my favorites are because I'm still researching all the schools. I also don't know when I'll make my decision. I'll do it when I get that feeling. Just when it feels right to me."
