I decided to make it because when I visited there I really liked the campus, the stadium, and the coaches," Morris told GamecockCentral.com. "Coach (Kirk) Botkin, I really like him. I just felt like it was the right school for me."
The 6-foot-3, 218-pounder plays both linebacker and running back for his high school team but projects to play USC's MIKE or WILL backer position at the next level. It seems like a good fit for him, as he relies on his physical nature to accomplish what he does on the field.
"Straight downhill hitting, that's what I love to do," he explained. "I can open field tackle. I love to get downhill and hit."
While Morris did not rule out visiting some other programs between now and February 2016, he is happy with his commitment to South Carolina and ultimately hopes to become a Gamecock officially when the time arrives to make it such.
"I want to be there. I would love to go there," he said. "Coach Botkin wants to get me up for a game sometime."
