Muschamp teleconference notes

South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp discussed the Missouri win and previewed this Saturday's Florida game during his teleconference Sunday evening.

Notes from Muschamp:

** The turning point of the game was the Rashad Fenton interception and then the 98-yard drive after that. Best game for the offense and handled everything that Missouri threw at them.

** Deebo Samuel and Jake Bentley were the offensive players of the game. They are playing at a high level and have a good rapport. Zack Bailey continued to play very well. Mason Zandi did well against a great pass-rusher. Had 12 explosive plays for the offense.

** Fenton and Taylor Stallworth were the players of the game on defense. Steven Montac got a ballhawk award for forcing a fumble.

** Elliott Fry set the school record. Proud of him. Javon Charleston was the other special teams MVP as he did a great job in coverage.

** A.J. Turner is the only new injury. He's day-to-day and only think it's a knee sprain. Will know more Tuesday, but don't think he'll miss the game Saturday.

** "In this profession if you don't win enough games, you get fired, and that's part of it." No animosity towards Florida. Had a good four years there.

** This game is really important because of the players and for USC (not because of it being a return to Florida).

** Jim McElwain has done a fantastic job. Can knowledge of their personnel help? It can in some ways, but players still have to go play and execute.

** Bentley does a very good job of protecting the football by going through his progression quickly and not putting the ball in jeopardy. Talked to him some about getting it out faster after a couple of sacks. "He'll work on it and he'll work on it like no one else."

** Biggest reason for turnaround since the 2-4 start? Deebo Samuel has gotten healthy. Bentley has played well. Have been opportunistic on defense and kept teams out of the end zone.

** Have had good continuity on the offensive line. Donell Stanley continues to improve and get better. He should be close to 100 percent this week. Malik Young had an ankle injury. D.J. Park did a good job. Young should be fine for Saturday.

** Qua Lewis has been a consistent player. Been pleased with his play. Don't have a lot of flash other than Darius English, but Lewis is anchoring the line. Lewis does a lot of things that don't go in the stat sheet. He's been very effective.
