Four-star ATH Hamsah Nasirildeen commits to South Carolina

South Carolina picked up a major piece in the 2017 recruiting class as four-star defensive back Hamsah Nasirildeen made his pledge to the Gamecocks today.
"I think at the end of the day, he felt really, really comfortable with coach (Will) Muschamp and coach (Travaris Robinson)," Concord defensive coordinator Matt Jenkins told Gamecock Central. "He really felt like that they can help development him into a player that can potentially play at the next level. That they can help prepare him as a person. And the fact that it's in the SEC and still relatively close to home. I think that proximity really played a part in his decision as well. I think he believes that Coach Muschamp can turn the program around. He's got it going in the right direction and I think that's something that's intriguing to him and that he wants to be part of."
The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder is given a four-star billing by Rivals.com, checking in at number 143 on the 2017 Rivals250 and ranked as the ninth-best prospect in the "athlete" classification nationally.
Nasirildeen carried offers during the recruiting process from Alabama, Florida, FSU, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, NC State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and others.
He chose USC over Florida and FSU, his other two finalists.
