One-on-one with Tashia Green, OrTre Smith's mom
Through new South Carolina wide receiver commit OrTre Smith's long recruiting process, his mother, Tashia Green, was there every step of the way.
It's become well-known that Green played volleyball at Clemson, but she maintained throughout the process that she simply wants the best for her son which she also showed with her actions.
Smith's recruiting process ended Sunday, his birthday, when the four-star receiver chose the Gamecocks among a final group that also included Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina.
Green spoke with GamecockCentral.com 1-on-1 about the process and the decision.
1-on-1 with Tashia Green
GamecockCentral: Are you glad to have the process over with?
Tashia Green: I'm happy. I'm glad it's over, but it wasn't as stressful as people think it was for me, it wasn't. It was fun. Tre is laid back. Bonnie and Clyde, that's what we call each other. But he's laid back. I think it sort of became stressful at the end, because that's when he started really thinking about what was best for him, schools, coaches, developing him, and all that good stuff. I think that was tough, because all the coaches are great. But he had to really narrow it down and say where - that gut check came in.
