Philadelphia guard David Beatty commits to USC

Frank Martin has added a key piece to his 2017 class with the commitment of Philadelphia guard David Beatty.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder announced his pledge tonight during a ceremony at his high school, choosing the Gamecocks over offers from Connecticut, Indiana, Maryland, and several others, according to Daniel Gallen of PennLive.com

Rivals.com national basketball recruiting analyst Eric Bossi recently weighed in on Beatty's game, describing him as a a "high scoring combo guard who plays with physicality and really likes to get his points at the rim and from the mid range."

Beatty joins previous signees Jason Cudd (center), Ibrahim Doumbia (forward), and Felipe Haase (forward) in the 2017 class.
