** Offensive lineman D.J. Park says that he's continued to rep at both right tackle and right guard in the absence of Donell Stanley. Cory Helms says he's been working at right guard. Blake Camper also confirmed that he's taken first team reps at right tackle. Both Helms and Camper said they're not sure yet what Shawn Elliott's plan is for the starting o-line.

** Perry Orth's brother, Evan Orth, plays for Mississippi State's Week 1 opponent, South Alabama. Perry Orth said that he and Evan have spoken this week about the matchup.

** Elliott Fry said that the biggest things that happened after he hit the game-winner was that Darius Rucker Tweeted him and Connor Shaw texted him.

** David Williams said that he's still getting some first-team reps at running back this week. (A.J. Turner is still the No. 1 back.)

** Hayden Hurst says that Mississippi State runs a lot of odd fronts, like Vanderbilt. MSU has good size up front defensively.

** D.J. Smith says a focus of the defense this week has been tackling on the perimeter and defending Mississippi State's screen game because it has good blocking receivers.
