No. 20 South Carolina practiced Wednesday afternoon at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
The highlights:
Ronald Patrick was out of a yellow jersey and practiced Wednesday, telling reporters he will definitely play Saturday. He said he's been working hard getting treatment and wanted to play against Tennessee but was only about 40 percent and didn't want to hurt his team.
Also out of a yellow jersey was defensive lineman Kelcy Quarles who practiced and appeared to be walking normally - well, as normally as the penguin-gaited Quarles usually walks, anyway. He will play Saturday.
Dylan Thompson said he knows he can't be Connor Shaw and will run the offense as called to the best of his ability, adding that Missouri's pass rush on film is the best USC has seen all year. He said the Tigers trust their front four to generate pressure more than any team the Gamecocks have faced.
G.A. Mangus said Thompson definitely would start but would not rule out Shaw playing some, though that amount and the timing have not been decided upon.
Mike Davis said he thinks his running style is very similar to his older brother James' and that they talk every day. He wouldn't speculate as to whether he would carry the ball any more with Thompson being the quarterback versus Shaw, only that he would run whatever the coaches called.
One new addition to the injured list was freshman linebacker Larenz Bryant, who was in a yellow jersey Wednesday for the first time this week. No information was immediately available as to the nature and extent of his injuries.
INJURY REPORT: Missing practice or in yellow jerseys Wednesday were Chaz Elder (concussion), Gerald Dixon Jr. (knee sprain), Cody Waldrop (ankle), Brandon Wilds, Devin Washington (concussion), Larenz Bryant and Mike Matulis (shoulder).
